'The most shining city of the Parians (set this up to) the ruler and master of the land and the sea and of all the peoples of men, Constantine the Younger, the Caesar'.
DESCRIPTION No description is given by IG, and no image has been published.
PROVENANCE/ LOCATION The base was once on Paros but, according to IG, was brought to Constantinople by the Ottoman fleet. There is no published record of its present location.
HONORAND AND DATE Flavius Claudius Constantinus, also called Constantine II ('Constantine the Younger' in the inscription) was probably an illegitimate son of Constantine I. He was proclaimed Caesar, when still a baby, in 317 and elevated to the rank of Augustus in 337. Ulrich Gehn
