Forum quod per annorum seriem turpi[ter iacebat ita ut pars quae frontem?] / moenium aspiciebat tantummodo remansisse[t, restitutum est? beatissimo saeculo] / ddd(ominorum) nnn(ostrorum) Valentis Gratiani et Valentiniani invic[tissimorum semper Auggg(ustorum), et status eius?] / absertus (sic) est ac melior, proconsulatu Decimi Hesperi v(iri) c(larissimi), apu[d oculos omnium pro splendore patriae?] / esse cognoscitur, adiuncto quoque statuarum ornate, una cuc[hlia ---].

The forum, which for a series of years lied shamefully (so that only the part) that faced the walls was still standing, (was restored in the most blessed age) of our lords Valens, Gratian, and Valentinian (II), most unconquered, (forever Augusti, and its condition) was reinforced and it is acknowledged as improved, in the governorship (proconsulatu) of Decimus Hesperius, of clarissimus rank, before (the eyes of all, for the splendour of the fatherland), and a decoration with statues was added (...)
