Text: Petasii. / Eximiae integritatis et / inconparabilis prudentiae / ac totius bonitatis viro, /(5) Fl(avio) Petasio, v(iro) p(erfectissimo), ex praesidibus / provinciae Tripolitanae, / ordo splendidissimae / civitatis Lepcimagnensis / decreto suo et populi /(10) sufragiis, memor me/ritorum in se ab eius prae/stantia conlatorum, /(13) statuam in foro novo Seve/riano ad perpetuitatis memo/riam patrono dignissimo / posuit.
Trans: (Statue of) Petasius. To a man of outstanding integrity and incomparable prudence as well as of every goodness, Flavius Petasius, of perfectissimus rank, former governor (ex praeside) of the province of Tripolitania. The council (ordo) of the most splendid city of Lepcis Magna, by its own decree and by acclamation of the people, mindful of the merits conferred upon them by his excellence, set up a statue in the new Severan forum, for the memory of eternity, to a most worthy patron.
